10 years ago I lived and worked in Japan for a few months. I left for personal reasons tried to come back several times. Finally I did two months ago. But things are so different. I only speak Japanese to people but now more Japanese are speaking English! Almost all of the menus have English on it! The girls aren’t so innocent either! They aren’t even responding to me like they used to. Where has my sweet little Japan gone?! It’s like the usa now. No more short skirts and pigtails, it’s jeans and sweaters.
I used to jump in peoples selfies and they would laugh, now I get a stare and people calling me rude and annoying.
Sorry if this post is jumping around…i have been crying for days about this.

Two observations: no place stays the same after a decade. Mind you, it included a pandemic. And if a decade’s change resulted in people letting you know you’re acting obnoxiously, then I fail to see the ~~positive~~ negative in that. If there is a problem here, it may be more yours than the country’s.
