Hey all,
I been waiting for a package from Sagawa Express for a few days now. It was originally schedule to be delivered on December 22 but on the website it says they took the package back due to absence during delivery and fair enough I was at work until almost 5pm and maybe they came earlier. Comes December 23, I dont have any work and I am home all day eagerly awaiting for my package, I check the delivery status and it says it out for delivery again, except it once again never arrived and was marked again as I was not home but I was 100% home all day very mindful of looking out for delivery people or trucks. So comes today, I am tired of waiting and at this point I just want to pick up the package at their branch myself so I call the branch to arrange it but they tell me its too late because the package was loaded on a truck to be delivered again today, I told them how I was home all day yesterday and they did not try to make up an excuse for why it was not delivered but assured me it would be delivered today but at this point I just want to pick it up myself, I am in rural japan and the nearest branch is an 1hr drive so I am not sure how to tell them I just want to PICK IT UP today I dont care if they have to recall their driver but I feel like they will just “attempt” to deliver it again just for them not to ever come and by the time its marked as being in their branch again it will probably be closed for costumers .
How would you approach this situation?

They surely won’t call the driver back and delay the delivery of 500 other packages, just so you can get to pick up yours.
Does your doorbell work properly?
Did they leave you a little delivery note to call and reschedule? If not I’d contact them and tell them they seem to be trying to deliver to the wrong address since their driver hasn’t left you anything so you could reschedule the delivery.
Once the battery of my doorbell was empty. Couldn’t hear it, missed so many packages for a while.
Check the batteries
Just reschedule the delivery on the website, and add your phone number. That pretty much guarantees they will call you when they attempt a delivery.
I’ve always had similar issues with sagawa..my door bell records everyone who rings so I would know if they came. Sometimes you just gotta call directly, sagawa’s service is probably the worst out of the major carriers tbh.
