FLYMEE gave me money back…But why?

Ordered some furniture off FLYMEE in November. It came to just under 20man yen. The money left my account fine and they FLYMEE mailed saying the item wouldnt be ready until January 2023. That’s fine I can wait. They weren’t asking for an extra confirmation and they just said their order cancellation deadline was November XX. So that’s long gone.

However today…. about half hour or so ago I’ve just found that the money is back in my account, via the bank’s auto email. Nothing from FLYMEE or even on my page. What’s their game? Am I just not going to get what I ordered? They should at least let me know.

  1. No idea who Flymee is, but maybe their accountant is a bit crap at Excel97, so decided it was easier to return your money rather than figure out how to carry it over to the next quarter, which would probably make their books wonky and result in shachou beating him with a table leg again?

  2. Its very likely that FLYMEE put authorization on your card, with planning to confirm the transaction when it’s shipped. The authorization has since expired, which trigger the refund for debit card. Most likely they will charge the card again when it’s ship

If you use credit card you likely won’t see the charge until it’s shipped in January. But since it’s debit card that’s how it’s ongoing to look like.

(As a reference, I ordered a Lenovo laptop with 6 month lead time using foreign charge card. Got charged and refund like 5 times during the wait)
