I’ve used Genki for 2 college courses but never particularly liked it. Since I’m self studying now I decided to get a textbook I think I’ll like and will want to use. Enter Tobira 1. I love how colorful and new it is. The font is the perfect size for me and the colors really help separate the amount of text on the pages. Super excited to continue my studies! I still need to buy the workbook.

Damn didn’t know they had a 初級 tobira book. I’m assuming there is a part 2 as well? I’m currently already passed beginning level and am currently using the normal tobira book (n3 level stuff) and I like how there is a lot more content, listening and reading wise. Let me know how that book compares to genki, content wise. Best of luck tho!
