Hi guys! Wondering if anyone has any insight on how feasible would it be to break into MBB or other management consulting jobs in Japan?
I’ve completed a MBB internship in the Nordics and received a full-time offer there. Currently I’m on a study exchange in Tokyo after which I will graduate. My japanese will most likely be N4-N3 by the end of the exchange.
I’ve understood japanese companies rarely hire people into consulting or finance without N1/fluent japanese. However I do have a fairly strong resume with experience in management consulting, private equity, investment banking, law and strategy work in a multinational company. Could this compensate for my language skills which i do intend to develop? Or would my only option be to try to get staffed on projects in japan while based in the Nordics?
