I will be arriving in Japan in January and am planning to stay at my friend’s house until i find an apartment. I need to open a bank account as soon as i can so i think i need to have an address in my resident card. I am planning to register my residency at my friend’s ward office and just change it when i found my own place.
My question is, would my friend get in trouble with her landlord if i register her address in my resident card?

Depends on your friend’s tenancy agreement with her landlord. Best thing would be to not stay for a crazy long time, regardless
