Just got a text message from Yahoo Japan (allegedly) asking me to pay a usage fee by today 12/27. Fee of ¥35,000, seems a lot like fraud. The only way to pay is V-Prica eMoney; credit card, convenience store payment and easy pay are all “out of service.” I wasn’t aware of a usage fee to buy things from yahoo Japan and it smells a lot like a scam. Does anyone know anything about this?

scam, delete + ignore.
Anything involving SMS + vpreca = scam
I hope you didn’t login to “yahoo” link using your credentials.
I get messages from all sorts of “businesses” or “banks” on an almost daily basis. Delete and ignore is the only thing you can do.
Got a text message….
That’s the beginning of the scam right there.
That’s exactly what I got.
Seen->delete. Never trust any text messages like that.
Scam messages via text and email are out of control. If it seems odd it probably isn’t legit. Never click on links in messages. Always check the status of your accounts by logging in directly yourself through your web browser.
You’re getting scammed, pal.
