Hey all! I’m looking to move to Japan in the next 3-5 years. I’m a software engineer currently working remotely for an American company who does not care about my physical location, and will support me regardless of where I choose to move.
What are my options in terms of visas, and how challenging is it to find a 1LDK as a foreign single woman?
I’m not sure if I get any bonus points for this, but I studied abroad in Japan while at university and still have my physical expired student visa + paperwork.
I’d be moving with two cats as well (I know this process is very lengthy and requires a lot of planning in advance).

You have to have a visa. If your not working for a Japanese company then there is no visa. You could start a business in Japan if you have 80k lying around?
Also you should try some basic research.
