Hello š Iām arriving to Tokyo (narita) on 3/4/22 and departing on 3/17/22
So far I have a hotel booked in shibuya but Iām wondering if there are better options elsewhere (Tokyo)? I would like to stay close to everything and my budget is between 200-400 a night. Please share suggestions. I plan on going to Kyoto as well as Osaka and nara. How many days should I spend in each city ? Do you guys have any hotel recommendations for Kyoto and Osaka ? Please make any suggestions. Iām assuming I will need the JR pass ? By the way Iām planning on going to Disneyland and universal. I love hello kitty and plan on going to puroland? Let me know where else I should go please šš¼

I too and totally overwhelmed and I’m leaving in 20 days. I’m trying to figure out where to stay as well. With your nightly hotel budget you have a lot of options.
take your time you have 2 months before your trip to figure out where you want to go. I’m actually planning a very similar timed trip 3/5-3-24.
your budget is $200-400 a night for hotels? shit stay at the grand hyatt of the park hyatt. I usually stay in great hotels in Tokyo at around the $60-80 a night range and they are amazing in comparison to US hotels 4x that price.
I’m guessing you land on the 5th? and fly out the 17, so that leaves 12 days. IMO you should just stay in Tokyo the whole time, but you could do 6 in tokyo 4 in osaka, then the last 2 back in tokyo.
I’d say you’re booking abit too late as prices are pretty bad that time of year due to Sakura season.
Shibuya isn’t a bad choice but I’ve always preferred Ueno area for cheap by easy transport whenever I travel.

Depends on what you’re looking for. You have many options to choose from in that price range. Are you looking for a convenient business hotel with a communal bath? A social one with an insta-ready common room? One with many breakfast options?

Depends on what you want to do there.

Decide where you want to go, check the train fare on Google Maps, add it up and compare it with the price of a JR Pass.
