I can’t seem to figure it out. All the resources I find online (with my limited Japanese) is for disposing full size fridges and cost quite alot.
If anyone has any advice or experience with this please enlighten me! I’m currently in Chofu-shi.

Either use sodai gomi service provided by Chofu city or call a recycle shop. Sodai gomi is the cheaper option and they should have an option for a fridge that is smaller than a certain size. They also have an English translated site if you can’t read Japanese. It should not cost too much and they list what you have to do on the website.
If you opt for recycle shop, good chance you will pay more and likely will not show up unless they can make decent chunk from you since it is the busy season for them. Try to call the ones that serve Chofu area and check but you will need Japanese to deal with the staff.
You have to pay to dispose one or sell/give to someone in groups like Sayonara sale on Facebook.
Its about 4000y to dispose a small sized fridge.
Bring it to a hard off. You might even get some money for it.

Take it onto a train, ‘forget’ it when you get off.
Send a DM to /u/ChurnLikeButter and have him carry it to the dump for you.
