Kanji Form

I’m about to start working my way through the Kanji in Context book and workbooks. However, I’ve noticed that it mentions a lot about the “form” of a kanji and how it is structured. It recommends that I fully understand this before I read the book. This would allow me to try and infer the meaning and pronunciation of future kanji that I encounter. I’ve always been interested in this part of kanji, rather than just memorising the kanji as they are, however I’ve really struggled to find any material on it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for pre reading to Kanji in Context, or just books/articles about kanji form in general?

TLDR: Looking for recommendations of reading material about the kanji “form” please.
