Anybody tried a December 31 visit to Zojoji temple?

Hi!

Family is visiting Tokyo for New Years. Anybody had an experience greeting New Year’s in Zojoji Temple? We would like to try something “Japanese” instead of going to Shibuya for a countdown.

  3. There’s not all that much to visiting one of the bigger temples or (as is more usual) shrines. Not much overt celebration goes on: people line up pay their respects or pray. Some small food stalls may be at a temple if you go to one. Any time during the first three days of the new year is OK.
