is there any google or similar quality handwriting input software for windows 10?

Hello everyone, when I’m on PC and I need to look up a kanji I don’t know what I do is go on google translate, use the handwriting option to write the kanji, then copy and paste the kanji where I need it.

On android I can just use the gboard handwriting input, so I wanted to know if there’s any handwriting recognition input I can use on windows 10 that works as well as the google ones because every other handwriting recogntion I tried no matter where is complete rubbish. The closest thing I found to what I want is the built-in windows 10 handwriting input which is not the worst but it fails to get what I want a lot of the time. I mean I’m sure my handwriting is rubbish too but no matter how perfectly I draw the character windows still gets it wrong sometimes, while the google ones always get what I want no matter what abomination I end up drawing, and it works perfectly even without following stroke order.

I looked quite a bit but couldn’t find anything, google IME is just an IME, no handwriting feature. I’m thinking that what I want simply doesn’t exist for windows, but I thought I’d ask here before giving up.

The reason I’m making a thread instead of asking in the megathread is because if there’s an actual software like this it would probably be useful for many other students here, not just me. Thanks in advance.

  1. I would assume Google IME (which does have handwriting input) uses the same technology as Gboard. I suspect you’d have a better time using a stylus rather than your mouse to write.

  2. If that fails or stroke order gets you down, jisho has a dictionary that uses selected radicals for lookup.
