Walked down the street in Shinjuku today. The overwhelming majority of unmasked were caucasian tourists.
Haha! In June Japan only had 262 tourist. This is well reported. Also, there’s a lot of Japanese folks without mask out there.
And everybody is vaccinated. So dramatic….
Symptoms are less than the flu. No need to panic. If you get it, you prob won’t die.
Just got COVID yesterday and I’m vaxxed and boosted… so if we know that the vaccine is now confirmed to not stop infections, why do we still do this constant daily updating of COVID infection numbers?
I am glad I took the vaccine personally, but this serves no purpose of than to continue to drive fear and as we can tell by Japan’s high non-vaccination rate, apparently the “fear them into getting the vaccine” tactic isn’t working.

Who cares? I live in Japan and got Covid last month. I spent two years worrying about it cause of the news. Got it and only had a fever for a day and a half…..that’s it!!!! Influenza that I got in 2018 or 2019 was 50 times worse! Time to move on!
Why are gaijin so against masks? If people want to wear then leave them alone.. they are proven to work above 5% and in higher quality 90%.
Think masks are pointless? During your next surgery tell your surgeon to not wear a mask 😉

Why is Japan experiencing this worse than elsewhere right now? Do we just have a higher percentage of people who haven’t had it yet? I know people who have had it twice so I don’t think that can be it. Maybe from finally loosening restrictions?
Why do they only report the number of cases and not the number of hospitalizations and deaths? I think it is important information. I think reporting this way paints a picture that is not consistent with reality, and spreads fear rather than helpful information.
