What are your favorite winter activities in Japan?

Today’s question is: What are your favorite winter activities in Japan?

We get near New Year. It is winter – there are no cherry blossoms, no somen, no autumn foliage.

Time for winter sports, some fun in the snow, snow sculptures and crane watching.

Tell us what are your favorite winter activities in Japan.

  1. So many seasonal dishes!

    Oden, Nabe, Ankake Yudofu …

As for activities, there are a bunch of beautiful illuminations to see.

  2. Onsen! Especially rotenburo. I still fondly remember soaking at night in an amazing rotenburo gazing out over a river frozen with ice along its banks as snow lightly began to fall on my head and I sipped sake from a bamboo cup.
