dumb question

So in English sometimes over text people will type something like “noooo” or other words they they draw out to be longer for drama(?) And I was wondering in Japanese is it like “いいええええええ” or “いいえうううううう” or they just don’t do it. Sorry this is really dumb but I’m genuinely curious.

  1. It’s gotta be, or at least be used like, an interjection. いいえ is not one of those words that would be used in such a way, being way too formal for such situation.

  2. This example is rarely seen I think. Since いいえ is the texbook polite version of declining a request, or meant as “not at all”/”that’s fine” etc. Written out someone might even think you saying “yey” いえーい!

    You’ll see いやだああああぁぁぁ as it’s a lot more common/casual.
