Feedback on 17-day trip around Japan (third visit)

Hey, all! My partner (33M) and I (28F) are traveling to Japan for \~2.5 weeks in mid-March. We’ve both been to Japan before separately and have visited Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. We’re excited to go back to Japan together and explore Tokyo as well as some new, ideally more off-the-beaten-path places.

**Some more detail:**

* We love food (who doesn’t)
* I’m fairly outdoorsy but my partner isn’t, so long hikes/more rugged activities are either off the menu or something I’d do solo
* We both love aimlessly walking around cities, art/music, clothes/shopping, etc.
* We’d much rather take our time in a place and move more slowly than try to pack everything in—something I’d love to understand about our itinerary is whether you think we’re moving too frequently/not spending enough time in a place
* We’ve got three unaccounted-for days I’m not sure what to do with (spend a full day in Kyoto? add in more relaxation days along the way?)

**Proposed itinerary:**

  1. > a bus from Kyoto to Okayama, a bus from Okayama to Uno

    Why not train?

    > take the bus from Uno Port to Okayama

    Again, why not train?
