Does this itinerary make sense? 14 Days. Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Takayama, Tokyo.

Hello everyone, I’d like to have your help on this itinerary. The things to see are not super detailed. I have encountered time for launch, rest and dinner. The list of things to see can skipped if needed, this is just a general idea.

Please feel free to tell me if I should spend more or less time someone or if I should skip or add something else.

Flight are already booked. From April 3 to April 15.

Also I’d like to know If a JR Pass is worth it. I did some math and it seems like that the single train ticket will be the same price or Rail pass. But I will let you tell me what’s best.

**Day 1: Osaka**

Land at Osaka KIX Airport at 5PM. Take the Nankai-Kuko Line or Nankai Limited Express to Osaka-Namba. My hotel is nearby. Eat something in the area and get some sleep.

**Day 2: Osaka**

Spend the day visiting Osaka. I will try to get the most out of the day. I’m planning to see Shinsekai, Shitenno-ji and Tsutenkaku and Hozenji. Then move to Osaka castle area and see Osaka Caste, Tenmangu, Sakuraniya. I was planning to see also Osaka Bay.

**Day 3: Osaka to Kyoto**

Wake up and take the train to Kyoto. I’m planning to take the Midosuji Line and then the Tokaido-Sanyo Line. This choice seems to be cheaper compared to the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen. Arrive to Kyoto and spend the day visiting Kyoto. Not sure if it’s worth visiting Arashiyama. More detail on things I’d like to see below.

**Day 4: Kyoto**

* Fushimi Inari
* Kiyomizu Temple
* Yasaka Shrine Area
* Ginkakuji Temple and Philosopher’s Path
* Explore Gion Area

**Day 5: Nara**

* Take the Kintetsu-Kyoto Line to Nara.
* Visit Kofuku-ji.
* Isuien Garden.
* Visit Todai-ji Temple.
* Explore Nara Deer Park and Mt. Wakakusa.
* Visit Kasuga-Taisha.
* Take the train back to Kyoto

**Day 6: Kyoto**

* Kinkakuji Temple
* Ryoanji Temple
* Togetsukyo bridge
* Tenryuji Garden

**Day 7: Kyoto to Kanazawa**

* Take the Thunderbird Express to Kanazawa.
* Kenroku-en Garden
* Kanazawa Castle
* Omicho Market
* Osaki Shrine
* Nagamachi Samurai District
* Teramachi Temple District

**Day 8: Kanazawa to Takayama via Shirakawago.**

Take the Express Bus to Shirakawago. Spend 3 to 4 hours and then take the bus to Takayama. Spend the end of the day in Takayama.

**Day 9: Takayama to Tokyo or Hakone (not sure).**

I was planning to stay a couple more hours in Takayama if needed and then take the train either to Tokyo or Hakone. I will let you advice me on the best choice. If I go to Hakone I could sleep in Hakone and the next day go to Tokyo. I don’t know if it will be too much. Also not sure if Hakone is worth it.

**Day 10: Tokyo**

**Day 11: Tokyo**

**Day 12: Day trip to Nikko**

* Take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station Utsunomiya, then, take the JR Nikko Line to Nikko Station.
* Shinkyo Bridge
* Rinno-ji Treasure House
* Toshogu Shrine
* Lunch
* Kegon Falls
* Back to Tokyo.

**Day 13: Tokyo until I have my flight back home from HND.**

  1. 9 or 10 to 14. Should be only Tokyo. You could spend 14 days in Tokyo without seeing anywhere near everything. Unless it’s not really your vibe, then less would be fine and just do the greatest hits.
