Itinerary check/Insight needed for January trip!

Hello! My friends and I are doing a trip mid January for about 6 days\~

We have a rough itinerary of what we want to do, but I definitely would love some suggestions/ pointers on how we can make this a smooth/fun trip (ex. should try this “fun spot” out then head over to “this place” since its in the same area.)

I will be leaving out dates for privacy reasons 🙂

\———————————————————————————————————————-

Day 1, Thursday: Land around 3 pm at HND airport

\-Check into our hotel in Tokyo

\-Find a place to eat for dinner

\-Go to some bars/clubs (any suggestions would be amazing!)

Day 2, Friday:

\-Breakfast or coffee place recommendations?

\-Lunch @ Zaou Fishing

\-Thinking of GoKarting, going to a Muscle girl bar, and the teamLab Museum, or any place with a high POV of tokyo

\-Dinner and then bar hopping/Kareoke

Day 3:

\-Wake up early and head to Kyoto via bullet train, arrive by 8-9

\-Eat at a cat cafe, Cat Cafe Mocha (If there is any reasons of opposition please lmk b/c I’ve heard mixed reviews)

\-Lunch at Kichi Kichi

\-Looking to check out Gardens/Temple (recommendations wanted for this!!)

\-Head back to Kyoto

\-Go to Nishiki Night Market and Pontocho Park

Day 4: Filler day in Kyoto, heading back to Tokyo that night – any recommendations welcome!

\-Onsen? Cafes? Breakfast spots? Cultural/Sight seeing??

\-Head back to Tokyo

Day 5: Downtown Tokyo day (we have ideas, but its kind of a blurb of stuff lol)

\-Nagoya Udon for Lunch

Optional Places to visit:

\-Maid cafe

\-Square Enix Cafe

\-Sushi Dinner somwhere

\-Izakaya night market

\-Hit up the Shinjuku night life?

\————————————————————————————————————————–

Lastly, I have a few questions about preparations for the trip:

1. Will rain boots be needed? I have water repellent walking shoes but I am not sure this will be enough lol
2. I heard about some some sort of green charge card that would be helpful, where’s the best pace to get this at?
3. I heard I will need a mobile router/modem, is there a place where I could rent one instead of buying? Unless buying your own is preferred

Please let me know!!! Thanks all 🙂

  1. 1. Not especially, January is one of the month with the least rainfall, but there is a chance of snow.
    2. whatever is a “green charge card” if that is something you use locally where you live, almost nobody know that that is. If you mean an IC card, like Suica or Pasmo to pay for local transit, then in any train station. You can get Suica from Tokyo Monorail or JR and Pasmo from the subway and different private railway. Both cards can be used in the same places and the same way, so just take one or the other.
    3. You can rent, there is many company that offer it. That or you get a sim card as you do not need to get and return a device.

For such a short trip, I an not sure it is totally worth doing both Tokyo and Kyoto.
