Question about rice balls.

I bought these frozen from the store. Am I suppose to reheat them with the plastic on them or do I take it off?

  1. Normally you eat them cold, so I would let them defrost naturally. Don’t reheat.

If you decide to reheat, take the plastic off first. Peel the plastic starting at the red tab where it says #1. That will split the outer packet in half and then you take the corners, #2 and #3, and gently pull. That allows you to remove the plastic and puts the nori (seaweed) in direct contact with the rice (but it will get soggy if you’re reheating it)

  2. If they are refrigerated, you can eat them right away, but when frozen you should microwave them rather than defrost, as leaving them to defrost will cause the rice to have an unpleasant texture
