Finding a finger splint in Kyoto?

Traveling and my wife sprained / injured her finger. Any recommendations for a pharmacy that would carry a finger splint? These are typically at most CVS in the USA but wasn’t sure if widespread in Japanese pharmacies?

  1. Matsumoto Kiyoshi is a common chain, just go check, or search for drugstore in google maps. bring your phone with a picture and google translate.

  2. Your best bet is to look for a 薬サンドラッグ. Copy and paste it into Google maps to find the closest one near you.

  3. People usually go see a doctor if they need a finger splint. Why not go to an ER?

  4. Just search “drug store” on google maps that what I did to go get some laxative medicine. I’m In Kyoto now and just went to one a less than
An hour ago and it was massive they have to have a splint and are open.

  5. I was looking for a knee brace and couldn’t find one. Signed up for Amazon prime japan and had it sent to my hotel. Got it in less than 24 hrs. Canceled prime at the end of my trip.

  6. You can somehow put a tongue depressor and tape it with the injured finger. Or if you dont have anything, just tape it with the finger next to it. Just to immobilize the finger. Apply RICE to reduce the swelling ang pain. .

    Rest
    Ice
    Compression
    Elevation

  7. Just ‘buddy tape’ it to another finger or two. It only requires any random tape to do. It’s a preferred treatment for a sprained digit, typically.

And any 100yen shop will have tape and whatever else you need.
