I’m currently completing my Master of teaching in the Primary-Junior Level at UFT (University of Toronto) and Ill be graduating in April. This September i’ll be doing an IB student placement with a grade 2 or 3 class from Sept-Dec. After I graduate i’ll have 2 practicums with the Catholic school board one with Kindergarten, the other with the junior level (anywhere between 4-6) under my belt plus an IB placement. I really want to teach in the Osaka area or neighboring cities. I’ve reached out to some VPs on Linkedin but only one entertained me because I was in school. I also made a profile with Search Associates, and GaijinPot, but I really want an IB school in Japan. My aim is to get an IB teaching role by June or Aug 2022. Any tips on how to get in ?

Why would you want to teach at IB? It’s well known for being a low quality school
come to japan first and then apply. its very competitive market
From what I gather, it will be difficult to get a position at one of the competitive schools listed [here](https://www.tutopiya.com/blog/list-of-ib-schools-in-japan/) unless you have non-practicum teaching experience in Canada. However, if I could work up stuff to make a connection, I might try attempting contacting the schools directly.
Do you have QTS/licensure from your home country plus two years domestic experience? This is usually the minimum requirement. Masters are only considered beneficial if it is on top of QTS.

Check out r/Internationalteachers for better info. Read their FAQ and search posts in that reddit. I’ve seen some weird, inaccurate advice on the Japan teachers’ board about this to the point where it seems people don’t know what they’re talking about.
