Premium egg recommendations / reviews?

Hello! Long term lurker, but I have been bothered by one question that has been eating my life since the last few months. To the extent, that I created an account on Reddit after deleting my old accounts years and years ago….

Among all of the eggs at my local Maruetsu…. there are like four different piles of eggs. I looked up the labels and came to the conclusion that some of the eggs were apparently given EPA/DHA rich foods leading to the eggs having extra nutrients or something. Me, being somewhat of an egg-lover, am ashamed of not bothering to look up anything regarding this, and just picking up a 12 pack fairly randomly.

My question now, to all the wonderful ladies, gents, the inbetweeners and the outbetweeners is….

“What eggs should I buy next? Brands / Specifications / Colour / Animal?”

I eat like 4 – 8 eggs every day, so even if you suggest something bad, do not worry about it because I will cycle through it quickly enough. Please just recommend whatever eggs you want me to eat and I will go buy it either on Amazon / Lawsons / Natural Lawsons / Family Mart / 7-Eleven / Ministop / Daily Yamazaki / Maruetsu / Lincos / Aeon / Costco / Seijo Ishi / Kinokuniya or whatever else can get me to some good eggs in Tokyo.

  1. Idk if it’s only me, but I find Japanese eggs weird. When I’m baking a cake and I need to beat them with sugar, they never turn as white as they would in my home country. Also they sometimes taste… Weird. I’d also like to find out the answer to this question.

  2. For me it’s whichever ones come in a resealable carton, not that plastic bs with the stripe of tape.

  3. Remember being able to buy non-battery farmed eggs back home? Aaaah.. those were the days. Enjoy the GM goodness.

  4. I also eat a lot of eggs and I typically just buy the standard Lawson eggs. They’re noticeably bigger than the eggs in my local supermarket and taste, well, like eggs.

  5. In Amazon Fresh they have sizes for the eggs (like M size, L size), when I bought the L (large) size, sometimes they had double yolks in the eggs. I think that’s pretty interesting. Do the smaller and larger eggs come from the same hens? Are they from different, mega hens that are capable of creating larger eggs?
