Engineering or Teaching as a non-Japanese speaker?

I’m currently an English Teacher looking to move to Japan this year. I’ve read all the horrible experiences (from most in the teaching industry in Japan) but because I am willing to take side freelance jobs, I think I’ll be down to apply for a teaching position. However, I graduated with a Masters in Structural Engineering 3 years ago from UK so if possible, and I really don’t want to waste this degree. I also worked as an engineer in Singapore for 6 months and did my 1-year engineering internship in UK. Do you think I have a good shot at securing an engineering job in Japan given that I have not worked as an engineer for the last two years, and I don’t speak any Japanese at all? All I’m looking for is a fresh new start in Japan as my country is currently collapsing because of civil-wars. Or is there any job that might be a good fit for me with my degree? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Nope, sorry. But you can teach English for as long as you’re able and happy to.
