Hello! After learning more about kanji (now I know 60+ kanji!), I wanted to try playing Pokémon Crystal so I can improve my vocabulary (the same way I did it when learning English). But in the very beginning I noticed I’m not ready yet:
おなたは おとこのこ ですか?

I know it means “are you a boy?”, but the particles… they scare me. A lot! I don’t know what they are. I did recognize “は” and “か” because I’ve casually read about them before, purely by chance, but that’s all I know. Actually, I would probably not even understand the sentence if I didn’t know the game would ask my gender in the beginning…

Then I figured the only way to play Pokémon was learning all particles first! That way I would know what was happening when I couldn’t find some word on Jisho, right?
And this is the reason why I’m here.
What did you guys do to learn about particles? How can I learn about them just enough so I can start playing Pokémon?

Thanks in advance!

you need not only particles but also some basic grammar as well to help here. Pick up a textbook like Genki or Minna No Nihongo, or for free and online there Tae Kim’s https://guidetojapanese.org/learn/
