5. So is it a Covid test and vaccinations, or just a Covid test? From the USA at least it is just proof of three jabs.

6. Hey everyone. I’m in Japan rn (have been for 3 weeks). The Japanese are still really cautious about Covid. Any time you’re indoors if you don’t want to be conspicuous you MUST wear a mask, even outdoors it’s expected. Honestly I don’t mind this I’ve probably been protected from common colds from this practice ( even before Covid it was super common). I just want to say one thing. Come to Japan, I’ve supported their economy by spending close to 20,000 USD. It’s been totally worth every penny. Their hospitality and services are leagues above every other country I’ve been to. (Certain services are open here that aren’t available in other countries). One other thing. Devote at least a couple months to learn as much Japanese as you can. (more if possible it only enriches the experience) before coming. If you know even a modest amount of Japanese they will respect you for making An effort and then speak in English. Japan can be expensive or a cheap as you want depending on hotel/restaurant choice, so there’s literally no reason not to come (though if you have high standards it will probably cost 5k/ week$). I’ve heard of people having 2 weeks for less than 2k, so if you’re at all interested please come. You’ll never regret it

7. I live in Tokyo. It’s about the most affordable major city I know, particularly food/restaurants. Also helps if you’re paid in dollars.

8. So many comments here seem to be confusing testing “travelers from China” with “Chinese nationals”. They’re testing anyone, regardless of nationality, who is coming from China to Japan. That includes Japanese (and other) people returning from China as well as Chinese visitors to Japan. This isn’t about who you are. It’s about where you’ve recently been.
