Itinerary check- 24th-11th April (full days) Tokyo- miyajima/Hiroshima- Kyoto-Osaka- Nagoya- Nara – Kyoto – Tokyo- hakone- Tokyo

Hi guys me and my partner are going to Japan for spring! We have a full 19days and I have some ideas for my list. It would be nice if you could have a look and agree or disagree or add recommendations on what else we could do there. I have been before but it’s my partners first time 😄 thank you everyone much appreciated! P.S I will be going to Pokémon centres in all the places if they have one and Pokémon cafes but didn’t want to repeat on each list 😁😁 we will also have the JR Pass for the week we are travelling and I have SIM cards for data.

We will be staying in Tokyo 24-30 march, Hiroshima 30-1st April, Kyoto 1st-5th, hakone 8th- 9th and then back to Tokyo 9th-11th April.

If you think we could combine any days too like Osaka and Nara for example that is also welcome, as I would love to see as many places as I can🥰

24th-30th Tokyo

– Gundam robot factory
– Pokémon cafe/center
– Yukata / kimono rental asakusa?
– Sensoji temple
– Shinjuku
– Harajuku
– Ginza
– Sky tree
– Tokyo tower
– Hard rock (for the pin)
– Anything to do with cherry blossom trees!

30th – Hiroshima

– Travel to Miyajima for the day

1st- Hiroshima

– Peace memorial museum
– Pokémon centre

1st – travel to kyoto in afternoon from Hiroshima

– Bamboo forest Kyoto
– Golden Gate pavilion Kyoto
– Nishiki market?

2nd- travel to Osaka in morning for day

– Pokémon cafe
– Umeda sky building
– Street food
– Maybe visit Kobe too in same day?
– Back to kyoto in evening

3rd- travel to Nagoya in morning for day

– Studio ghibli museum
– Pokémon centre
– Back to kyoto in evening

4th – travel to Nara In the morning for day

– Nara deer park

5th – last day in kyoto before travelling back to Tokyo in afternoon/ evening

– Monkey park
– Inari shrine

6th- 7th- in Tokyo

– Teamlab?
– Samurai museum?

8th-9th travel to Hakone for birthday weekend

– Onsens
– Mount Fuji lakes

9th-11th – in Tokyo

– Ome?

  1. I haven’t been to Japan myself yet, but is there any reason you can’t do the Arashiyama bamboo forest on the same day as the monkey park? They’re in the same vicinity and it would save you an hour of traveling back and forth.

  2. If you’re not sure about your remaining Tokyo days you might want to spend a day or two more in Kyoto. You’ve only got a day and a half scheduled for the city itself, and it’s a place that I recommend 3-4 days to see. You’ve already got a lot of time in Tokyo and if there’s nothing in particular you want to see there you might want to shift the days to the areas you’re already visiting. Hiroshima could use another half day and Osaka probably a bit more time too. You have a lot of time in Tokyo and you’re rushing a lot to other locations a bit.

    Also agree that Nagoya would be fine as a stop from Kyoto to Nagoya. Leave your luggage in lockers in Nagoya Station to explore for a few hours there.
