    Shrines are Shinto and have torii gates, and temples are Buddhist and do not.

  5. A particularly bright meteor like that is technically called a “fireball”. I’m not making that up. Amateur astronomy is a hobby of mine. Well, the technical term is actually “bolide”, but “fireball” is the much more commonly-used term, and it sounds way cooler.

  6. Wow. I’m guessing this was an “accidental” shot? No way this could be planned, obviously. Or was it taken during a large meteor shower?
