I’ve been using Tofugu’s guide on learning Japanese (brilliant guide btw, highly recommend) for the past 2-3 months how. I’ve gotten up to the section on learning kanji radicals and whatnot. However, while I know how to learn them, I don’t know *where* to learn them. I don’t think I’d be able to afford Wanikani, and while Anki is popular, it seems a tad too confusing, and I’ve heard letting it become your learning in it’s entirety can be bad. So, I ask you fine folks here, where would be the best place for me to start learning radicals + kanji?

Going through RTK, hand-writing every kanji and using an accompanying Anki deck worked well for me. Anki in general has a bit of a learning curve but it’s worth it, even the $20 iOS app purchase. And no, it shouldn’t be the only thing you use, but it’s a good core component.
You should really learn Anki
Download a wanikani deck in anki. The wanikani 2 electric boogaloo deck is good. Learn the cards at the pace you like, then when you feel like you don’t need it anymore, just drop it.
Wanikani works for me, but as others have suggested, anki is a good tool that’s free.
Have you looked at the link called starters guide from the subreddit ? I think this is a good place to start

I use the core 2K/6K deck on anki and it’s been great. You can find it in the description of [this video](https://youtube.com/watch?v=KygsjMUj_C0&feature=shares).
