I was wondering who is paying for the mandatory quarantine of positive passengers coming from China?
Saw this on ANA website, “If positive, the passenger will be quarantined in a government-designated hotel for seven days as a rule.”

My middle son went to a quarantine hotel when he tested positive last year for 7 days (my doctor, being concerned for me because I have co-morbidities, strongly suggested he go). It was 100% covered by the government including the shuttle bus that picked him up at the house and returned him. Of course 2 days after he left my wife also came down with it. I, having grown up drinking from the hose outside, have a god level immune system and was the only person in the house who didn’t catch it. *weak flex at his 3 negative tests over 10 days*
He did say the meals got a bit repetitive and that since they only had basic TV it was boring as fuck. Do not recommend.
During the previous periods (like last year), the j-gov footed the bill for quarantine. Would guess it’s the same now
Us (taxpayers)
We do, through our taxes. A better system would be to require a travel insurance from everyone, which covers COVID. I did the same when I traveled to Australia last summer.
