Has anyone on here ever needed to make an emergency long term trip back to the UK with Japanese wife and half kids born in Japan?

Since our children will be born in Japan, neither my wife nor my kids will have UK citizenship. Does anyone know if we would all be able to return to the UK for a year or even longer to care for family members under the provisions of human rights, or would my wife still require a visa?

Is there a simple procedure for this that I’m unaware of where my whole family can come back if for example my parents get cancer and need to be with us for a long time? Or would we be restricted even in the case of a family emergency?

  1. Your kids should be eligible to get UK passports as well.
As for visa, check r/ukvisa as that’s the hub for that kind of thing.

  2. Are you from the UK yourself? If so, then they are automatically British citizens through you. Same situation with my family.
