Two useful websites I haven’t seen posted in a while (Verb Handbook and Compound Verb Lexicon)

Hey everyone,

I haven’t seen these two websites posted in a while, so I thought I’d post them again!

The two websites below are useful for people who are trying make the monolingual transition early on (well even if that’s not your goal, I think they are useful regardless…)

**Website #1 is the Verb handbook:** [https://verbhandbook.ninjal.ac.jp/headwords/](https://verbhandbook.ninjal.ac.jp/headwords/)

It describes basic verbs using pictures and videos along with voiced examples sentences.

For example check out [集まる(あつまる)](https://verbhandbook.ninjal.ac.jp/headwords/atsumaru/) vs. [集める(あつめる)](https://verbhandbook.ninjal.ac.jp/headwords/atsumeru/)

Both translate into English as: to collect, to assemble, to gather; which is rather confusing, however the example pictures make the difference clear.

Don’t forget to click on the アニメ tab on the right to see and example video of the word being used in context.

**Website #2 is the Compound Verb Lexicon:** [https://vvlexicon.ninjal.ac.jp/db/](https://vvlexicon.ninjal.ac.jp/db/)

This website features 2756 compound verbs along with an example sentence plus English translation and Romaji. If you like, then you can set the language to Japanese which makes it a great dictionary the monolingual transition.

Hope those two websites help a bit!
