  1. I would like to announce that after my lingodeer subscription ran out, I ordered Tobira. It arrived yesterday. I will begin work with it tomorrow after I get over this stomach bug. Wish me luck.

  2. I found out today that if you search for “reading Japanese together” at Youtube and filter to only show “playlists”, half of what will appear is cursed, and get worse as more you go down, DON’T search for that, adult content.

  3. Context:智美(ともみ)is a 4th grader who keeps complaining that she wants a phone to her parents.

    > そのかいあって、ようやく智美は携帯を手に入れた。

I am wondering about the part before the comma. The rest probably says “Finally Tomomi got a phone”

Maybe そのかいあって is something like…その回在って, but I have no idea really

  4. woman talking about getting back at some guy:

    >で、でもプレゼントのズボンが合わないだけでフるような男には…負けられない!

does the フる here mean to dump/reject someone? is she talking about a guy who dumped her because the pants he gifted her wouldn’t fit lol?

  5. I already have a solid kanji base. I want to focus on vocabulary now. It’s easy to find vocabulary lists online but that seems so boring. What is your favorite method for learning and remembering new words?

  6. Any recommendations of phone app / website for reading jlpt n2 level articles / stories? So far I only know Todai Easy Japanese for NHK news, but the topics are pretty limited (news).

Or, any recommendations of phone app / website for reading Japanese with annotations, furigana, quick references, etc? Few days ago I saw someone on the plane using his phone to read some animated story in Japanese, but after each sentence, it had a quick translate button. I can’t find this app anywhere 😭
