When would you change Japanese Tutor?

I have had several lessons with a Japanese Tutor on iTalki for the last few months, maybe about 10? Last lesson was early December as the season gets very busy and I didn’t have bandwidth to learn.

I’m keen to get back into it and before purchasing I checked their timetable. They no longer seem to do evening appointments which is all I’m a available for. I messaged them a few days ago asking if they will be restarting evening lessons (thinking it was maybe a seasonal thing to give them a break).

It has been 3 days now and they have not replied to me. Neither of us notified each other of availability over the holidays so I don’t know if they are on holiday or something.

At what point would you change tutor in order to get restarted? I’m generally happy with the lessons (we tend to just go through genki, there is no homework and sometimes they start a little late or finish a little early but it’s only 2 or 3 minutes so it’s not really worth complaining about. I do believe I am improving). I was thinking of booking someone else at the end of the week if I hear nothing back.

  1. If you *really* like that tutor maybe you can get up early and do it before work. Otherwise, yeah sorry you have to find a new one.

Might kinda suck if you like that guy though.

I’d give it 1 more day and that’s it.
