Niseko or Sapporo for a few nights?

I’m planning a future winter trip but not sure whether to stay in Niseko or Sapporo. I only have a few days coming from Tokyo. I do want to try the fresh seafood, Hokkaido milk, and any other recommended specialties/restaurants. I’m too scared to drive in the snow so would prefer to take bus/train. I need help deciding which place is more convenient.

Pros For Niseko, I researched that it’s mostly for skiing which I’m open to despite the fact that I’m horrible at it. But the person I’m traveling with would like to experience skiing in Japan( and can actually ski). I would like to stay at a ryokan and the only Hilton in Hokkaido (Hilton credit card so the loyalty points are a draw). JR Kutchan seems convenient from the airport and to get around.

Pros For Sapporo, it seems like a bigger city. There are more restaurants I have bookmarked there for sushi, omakase. JR Sapporo train station looks fun and convenient.

I don’t have too much time in Hokkaido. Which one would be best for a short time in Hokkaido?
