I frequently go to recycle shops such as Hard Off to look at stuff, and I’ve had several “white whales” in the past that I searched for for ages. I’m sure others who frequent them also have white whales.
So let’s all help each other out! Drop your white whale here and if someone sees it somewhere else they’ll be able to help you find it!

My current white whale is the Pentax Q Prime Lens. It’s not a very expensive lens but it’s really rare to come across.

Not got a white whale right now, but I always keep a list of things to look out for. I think about 70% of the things in my house came from a recycle shop!
I keep my eye out for unique watches and camping gear. Haven’t found a great watch yet (too easy to Google, I guess), but have found a lot of great gear- most of it still in the original packaging.
I’m constantly on the lookout for unusual and in common instruments, a big one I’ve been wanting is a button accordion!
Where I’m from a white whale is when you’re skinny dipping and duck dive underwater.
