Chinese Spring Festival, overseas travel will be 6.4 times higher than before COVID eases, Japan ranked third in destinations.

On 5 May, Trip.com Group, a leading online travel company in China, announced that the number of overseas travel bookings for the 21-27 Chinese New Year holiday increased 6.4 times compared to the previous year’s Chinese New Year holiday. The average value also increased by 32%.
The most popular destinations were Australia, followed by Thailand and Japan. In Australia, Melbourne increased more than 50 times and Bangkok increased more than 10 times.
On 8 August, China radically eased its measures against the new coronavirus, bringing the ‘zero-COVID’ policy to an end. As quarantine and other measures will no longer be necessary when returning home, applications for overseas travel are expected to increase sharply.
