Water was cut last night due to missed payment, found the slip, paid in full in person at the water company office, was told in person it would be back by 17:00 at the latest. It is now 1830 and still off.
They did mention if it didnt return I could turn a valve to restore it possibly, but I am a bit stumped where it is.
[This is a photo of my gas/water closet](https://imgur.com/3BJ23qh). Other than obvious valve that says GAS is the other what I should be turning?
Now as its Friday and Monday is a national holiday I face a whole 4 days with no water.

You really think the _water_ company has no way to reach them over a weekend?
Edit: if your water was disabled by something in that closet, it means that someone from the water company would have had to go into that closet. If it’s inside your dwelling, then that didn’t happen, and there’s nothing in there that would turn it back on.
It’s not uncommon to have the main switch outside the apartment. I wouldn’t touch anything though because I’m not a plumber, either. Call the water company tomorrow and ask. If they say it’s back you need to look for somebody in your building who knows where the switch might be.
Depends on what kind of building it is but apaato and houses have cover set in the ground that has the meter and the valve. Older covers are metal and newer are usually blue plastic. Has 水 on it too.
It won’t be inside. That would mean the staff would have had to have gone inside your home to turn it off. It will be outside. Are you in a detached house apartment or condominium?
It will probably either be a thing in the ground like this https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQv_QnMCIbIXWLUaJjoTPKX7SqvAjPHOYxbgA&usqp=CAU
Or some sort of metal box/door looking thing on the wall near your apartment door like this

They could also be in a common area like near the parking lot or electric meters but just be careful because you might not know which one is yours in that situation. They should be numbered somehow though.
You can try googling terms like パイプスペース,
パイプシャフト, 敷地内の地面に水道メーター etc to find out more
I got some of this info from this site https://www.esmile-24.com/leak/column/detail/6817/
You can use the google translate web extension to help if you’re not good at Japanese
Wait… Monday a national holiday?
