Hold on… is sim lock still a thing? I thought you can unlock pretty much any iPhone for free. I did it half a year ago, took me only a couple minutes (online via Docomo website) and it cost me nothing.
Check out on Akhibhara. Lots of open market for unlock phones and all. Also check out on second street nearby your places or geo mobile
Aren’t all phones from apple (direct) unlocked? And if you want unlocked/SIM-free android, that’s about the only kind that amazon sells.
Most phones come unlocked since like 3 years ago or something. Just look for secondhand phones.
Most of the phones you see on Mercari and Yahoo are Korean phones they are cheaper than the Japanese model but you won’t be able to sell them to say Book Off.
