Itinerary Check – Fuji day trip

Yes i would love to do an overnight at a ryokan onsen, but for this time around it will just be a day trip from Tokyo end of Feb. Please let me know if any suggestions.

arrive at Shinjuku station around 7:30.

Take either bus or train to Fujiyoshida.

Walk to Chureito Pagoda.

walk back south towards Nishiura st (rt 139) and stop by cafes/eats in the area for coffee break/iconic views of fuji in background.

Walk or take train 1 stop to Fuji station and see golden tori shrine landmark on rt139.

Get get lunch in area.

Take train 1 stop to Kawaguchiko station.

Explore area and maybe go up ropeway.

Afternoon coffeebreak in the area.

Board return train 330pm to return to Tokyo and eat dinner around Shinjuku station.

  2. For me it sounds reasonable, but I’m also together with a super fast walker.

    Biggest hint when going to the Fuji area, always check the weather report beforehand and on the day. There is nothing more disappointing than going “to see Mt Fuji” and then it’s cloudy. You literally can’t see the mountain on some of those days.
