Is there a list of graded secondary school kanji?

Hi,

I see that for kyouiku kanji, all the kanji are listed by grade. So I’m assuming this means that the students for example in grade 4 focus on the kanji in grade 4, maybe even tested on them, even though they probably learn other kanji too.

I see in Shirabe Jisho that the secondary school Kanji also have grades, but then Wikipedia lists them all with an S. Is there a list of graded secondary school kanji?

Thanks.

  1. You mean the remaining joyo kanji? As far as I know they are part of a group of ~1000 kanjis graded as Junior High grade. I have never seen an official subgrading of these Junior High kanjis. Does Jisho grade it further?

  2. Once you’re at secondary school, there is no official assignment as to what grade the kanji is to be learned.
If you want the source, [漢字の指導に関する中学校学習指導要領(平成20年3月文部科学省告示第28号) における取扱いについて(抜粋)](https://www.mext.go.jp/b_menu/shingi/chousa/shotou/076/shiryo/attach/1297683.htm) – yes it’s kinda old, but I don’t think this has changed. You can see that it only assigns the *approximate number* of kanji to be learned in that grade, not *which* kanji.
