i’ll be heading to japan on a student visa in september. my passport is in a previous name and in the uk i don’t need to change it until it runs out (as long as i book travel in that name). all of my other documents and university details are in a new name. my name has been legally changed and i have the documents. will this be an issue when getting a visa for japan? will i need to get this name change document translated into japanese for any authorities to read? will it be okay? or should i just apply for a new passport? cheers.
