College ruled or Wide ruled paper for Kanji?

Do people manage to write complex Kanjis on College ruled paper? Or is Wide ruled better? I’m an absolute beginner. Sorry for the basic question.

  1. Most people learning kanji, including Japanese students, use special paper called genkoyoshi (sometimes genkouyoushi) 原稿用紙. It’s squares arranged in a grid. The goal is to fit each kanji (or kana) in one square.
