Do you have or plan on getting job where you regulary make use of your Japanese?

We all start learning Japanese for different reasons, but I think most people do it as a hobby and it’s very interesting to make use of your hobby in career. I’d also want to do this someday, so if you did this, how difficult it was to find such job?

  1. I translated (using the term loosely) technical documents at one of my old jobs for a subsidiary of a Japanese conglomerate. The benefit was I got to sit around and read / type for a bit while everyone else had to do diagnostics and repair. I got to do it because one of my supervisors saw me reading manga in Japanese on my break.

My current job has zero opportunities to ever use Japanese.
