the relation to chinese websites would make sense because i believe the majority of japanese restaurants in north america (or at least a lot of them) are owned and operated by chinese families lol
edit: and if you know these restauranta tend to be owned by chinese immigrants then overlooking a typo like janpanese instead of japanese makes sense (the extra n sorta blends into the word)
You’re reading too much into it, just a typo.
I think it might be something legal. I mean I don’t know American justice system, if they say “japanese restaurant”, they need to be japanese or something. That’s the first thing came to my mind.
the name sakura is a dead giveaway that this is supposed to say “japanese”.
it’s for sure a typo, which are very easy to make in second languages. that said, if they can’t catch it on their own exterior signage, they’re not paying enough attention in general.
