What does “mon” mean in a name?

I have learned about “mon” in phrases, like for example I saw [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/ieb39p/what_exactly_is_does_mon_mean_in_spoken_japanese/) but I’ve seen mon be used in names for fictional characters like [Zundamon](https://vocalsynth.fandom.com/wiki/Zundamon), I’m assuming this trend comes from monster but I still wanna know

  1. Pretty sure it is “monster.” “Pokemon” comes from Pocket Monster, which is the original Japanese name.

  2. If it’s in a name like this, it’s also a reference to very old-fashioned men’s names that end with mon or emon. That’s why Doraemon is named that way.
