My main goal for this trip is to spend time by the water or in it, spend time outside, eat and try as many new foods as possible, and relax!
I know south of Japan has the best beaches, but I’ll take a stab down there when I visit again.
15th— Day 1:
Arrive at NRT at 2:10pm, get dinner (any good recs for monjayaki in tokyo?), see a relative coming down from Utsonomiya.
16th—Day 2: Visit Yokohama and spend the entire day there. Stop at:
chinatown and try dim sum
cup noodle museum,
get on the cosmo clock ferris wheel
17th— Day 3: Visit Kamakura
Go to a Okonomiyaki restaurant,
Have sushi here? Since it’s by the water?
spend the day lazing at the beach, maybe snorkeling?
18th— Day 4: Go to Mt Takao from shunjuku station. Stop at onsen at the base of mountain. Go back to tokyo
19th– Day 5: Go to Enoshima island and spend time in the water! Snorkel/Swimming?
20th–Day 6: Maybe a day trip to Hakone(not super sure what to do here since i don’t really want to see the castles or shrines)? But I also don’t know what to swap it out with?
21st– Day 7: Go back to yokohama
take the seabass to yamashita park,
ramen museum,
Nogeyama kouen zoo
Maybe even the yokohama landmark tower
22nd— Day 8: 2:40pm flight leaves NRT
Questions:
1. Is there anything else closer to Tokyo that you think i should add to my list (that’s not a castle or shrine)?
2. I’m not super sure where exactly to stay/get a hotel yet. I’m leaning towards being close to one of the rivers so i can have a nice beautiful path to run through everyday. I also know I want to be super close to a train station. Is there anything else I should keep in mind when looking for a place?
3. Give me all your fav food recs!. My only dietary restriction is no pork, but I want to read all the places that you love. The only place in my list is Ramen Street.
4. I still don’t really understand the transportation situation tbh. I know JR Pass is not a good idea because I’m only there for 7 days, but is it more economical to just buy tickets as i go? It feels too straightforward lol.
