This may have been asked before but I couldn’t find anything about it.
So currently I am living in Tokyo as a student and my semester is ending next month thus concluding the end of my student visa. I am now applying for a Working Holiday Visa but I would prefer to spend all my time in Tokyo as I already have work sorted out and my friends live here. I understand the point of the Working Holiday Visa is to travel around Japan so here is where I am slightly confused. When they say, you must not stay longer than 3 months at the same location, does this mean I can live in Tokyo for 3 months, then say Kyoto for 3 months etc OR does it mean I have to make regular holidays outside of Tokyo but I can still rent an apartment here for 6months – 1 year. I am currently making my ‘Holiday Plan’ in the Visa application. Also what happens if I do not stick to the ‘Plan’?
Would greatly appreciate any help 🙂
Thanks

I stayed in Osaka for the full time, but my submitted plan included travelling all over for 1-2 months.
No one checks that youre sticking to the plan.
I had the Working Holiday Visa when I returned to Japan after being a student, and I can tell you for sure they do not check your plan (I mean really who has their plan made for that whole duration and or if they even change it?) and I lived in Tokyo for the whole time until I switched over to a humanitarian visa!
All they want to see is a ‘framework/plan’ of where you’ll be going, to make sure that you’re using the visa as intended – which is traveling!
Have an amazing time and adventure!
