Itinerary Check – 18 Days | Tokyo, Hakuba (Snowboarding), Hakone, Kyoto/ Osaka | March Rough plan

Hey all,

Three friends and I are planning a trip to Japan in early March (Three of us new to Japan) and I would like to sense check and get some advice on our rough Itinerary before we start booking things like accommodation. We haven’t planned the day to day as of yet but would like to ensure we manage our time as best as we can.
We are going to go snowboarding in the Hakuba region which a must on our itinerary.

**Day 1** \- Arrive early morning (Probable jetlagged) and our current plan is to stay in Asakusa. While we are there I thought we could see Asakusa Jinja and do some shopping around Nakamise taking the day pretty easy.

**Day 2** \- Potentially head out to Teamlabs, Odaiba and Rainbow bridge (Again rough idea, not specifically planned)

**Day 3** \- Disney Sea day trip

**Day 4** \- Potentially looking at doing a Mario Kart tour on this day, maybe heading to Harajuku for some more shopping and even doing a cooking class

**Day 5** \- We may split up here as some of us want to go to Disney Land and some will not. Disney Sea is enough for me personally so will look to fill out my day here in some other way. We had also discussed travelling to Hakuba this evening so manage time a bit better (That way the following day could be used for snowboarding opposed to travelling)

**Day 6** \- Collect hire gear and snowboard

**Days 7, 8 and 9** \- Snowboarding and potentially a day trip if we need a break either in-between or at the end.

**Day 10** \- Head to Hakone for the night. We’ve planned to do the round trip and having to travel from Hakuba means staying the evening here makes more sense. Potentially Onsen for the afternoon.

**Day 11** \- Round trip of Hakone. We’d like to go to Oshino Hakkai and am considering hiring an overnight car, driving there and spending the night before returning to Hakone (Odawara) to catch the train to Osaka.

**Day 12** \- Enjoy Oshino Hakkai and the flexibility of having a car. Maybe visiting Gotemba as well. Drive back to Hakone to drop off car and catch train to Osaka.

**Day 13 to 17** \- First day in Osaka. This part of the trip isn’t ironed out too much yet but hopefully we’ve allocated enough time to enjoy both Osaka and Kyoto here. Potential plans are visiting Universal studios, Doing an E bike tour, sumo wrestling, Osaka Castle.

**Day 18** \- Fly home. Flight is in the evening from Osaka so we can definitely use this day to our advantage as well.

Apologies for not being as specific as some of the posts on here. Still trying to find our bearings. Any thoughts of advice would be appreciated.
Something we have considered is omitting Oshino Hakkai from our trip and adding extra time in Osaka, Kyoto or even Tokyo but we aren’t committed on that fact. It will be the end of Winter so unsure on whether all of the plans are as good during this weather period.
