I submitted the application to get the pension lump sum after moving away from japan in mid September. I filled out the paperwork, had all my stuff in order and sent it off just before leaving the country myself (had already moved out and was basically “tourist” status, confirmed with my local government that so long as I had the papers in order it’s fine to send it from inside the country).
It’s been several months and I’m starting to realize… I don’t know if or how they’ll contact me for confirmation or if there’s some kind of problem, etc. i know 4 months isn’t that long and the process takes a while but I don’t know how long is TOO long or when to start checking for it to hit my account or how to contact them to ask if I did anything wrong… How long did it take to get yours? Did they contact you if something went wrong with submitted documents? What can I expect?
